Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training

Heatwise is excited to present its first Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training, led by Kendra Thomas. This 15-hour course is designed for certified yoga teachers who are interested in teaching Sizzle & Sculpt with Heatwise.

Sculpt classes, which have steadily grown in popularity, incorporate light weights and resistance bands to target and strengthen specific muscle groups. What sets apart one sculpt class from the next is its instructor, their breadth of knowledge, and the intentionality of their sequencing. The more you know, the better you can help our students get stronger while keeping them safe from injury.  

Whether you are hoping to teach sculpt or simply expand your personal knowledge of fitness and anatomy, this training will offer a comprehensive look at the body and its movements from a strength perspective. Through a mix of practice, lecture, partner work, and group discussion, our sessions will help you understand proper alignment and muscular engagement, and the ideal way to structure informed, engaging, and effective classes. 

This training will take place over the course of 4 days in June, meeting for 3 hours each session. Additionally, you will be required to take a minimum of 3 Sizzle & Sculpt classes at Heatwise prior to completion of the training as well as participate in feedback post-class, discussing takeaways, critiques, etc.

TUITION, POLICIES & PREREQUISITES

Tuition: $500 (discount available for current Heatwise staff and Heatwise TT grads)

This training is intended for yoga teachers who have already completed their 200-HR certification. 

Attendance is required at all training sessions. Missed hours must be made up in accordance with our make-up policy and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

More about Kendra Thomas (she/her)

Kendra is an NYC based Yoga, Meditation, and Strength instructor. A decade ago she began teaching yoga when she realized how many people she could help, not only physically but also mentally. She continues to grow and expand her knowledge, adding certifications in prenatal yoga, yoga nidra/meditation, advanced anatomy, inversion training, TRX, and strength training among others. Additionally, Kendra has created unique class concepts for multiple yoga/fitness studios, including NEOU, NOVA Fitness, and Mind Body Project's signature Meditation + HIIT class, where she oversaw the hiring and training as head of instruction. 

Whether teaching yoga or strength, her focus is on safe and proper alignment and muscular engagement for everyone. It is her goal to help people find their potential and leave each class feeling more grounded and empowered – laughing and letting go of stress one breath at a time. When she isn’t teaching in studios or training with private clients, she can be found consulting with studios, guest teaching internationally, and hosting her own retreats where she offers Meditation, HIIT and Yoga while cultivating lifelong connections and exploring the world with new people.
